UPDATE 4 - 20th October 2023: Day 240 of sit-in protest in front of the Foreign Affairs Office! Vahid says: “The root of all the devastation we are witnessing in the region is Iran’s IRGC. Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad and other terrorist groups are like the arms and legs of an octopus, with the head being in Tehran. So, to end these barbaric activities, ongoing conflicts and tragic losses of lives in the region, once and for all, we have to go after the root. We have been saying this for many years and specifically for the past 253 days, camped outside of the Foreign Office. The UK Government must proscribe the IRGC now.” The topic of IRGC proscription has been brought back to the nation's attention following recent comments from Home Secretary, Suella Braverman and Security Minister, Tom Tugendhat, who are eager to see the designation made. Yet the holdup apparently remains with the Foreign Office, despite James Cleverly reportedly coming under direct rocket-fire during his visit to Israel; rockets which have essentially been backed by the very organisation he is stalling to proscribe.

UPDATE 3 - 11th July 2023: Day 138 of our sit-in protest following 72 days of hunger strike opposite the Foreign & Commonwealth Department. "I am calling on the UK government to proscribe the IRGC. I hope that in today's meeting between Biden and Rishi Sunak, the importance of the IRGC's proscription is emphasised, and that both leaders reach the conclusion that appeasement policy with the Islamic Republic of Iran has not, and will not work. UPDATE 2 - 26th May 2023: after 2 weeks of hospital stay, slow recovery of his 72 days of hunger strike and 1 week of rest, Vahid Beheshti is back at King's Charles Street in front of the Foreign Affairs, demonstrating together with many fellow activists, politicians and media to pressure the UK government to enlist the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps as a the terrorist groups, which is what they are. Politicians agree "What other evidence is needed?".

UPDATE - 5th May 2023: after 72 days (!!!) of Hunger Strike, Vahid Beheshti is now in hospital following his GP's order to call an ambulance after experiencing pain, severe nausea and headaches alongside heaviness in his chest and sustained heart palpitations.

Vahid: "As per medical advice, and in order for me to continue this fight to proscribe the IRGC, I have temporarily stopped my hunger strike. As soon as I have recovered, I will be back opposite the Foreign Office, to continue this fight among my dear brothers and sisters who have fought alongside me."

My husband, Vahid Beheshti, who is an Iranian-born British citizen, started a hunger strike on the 23rd February 2023, calling on the UK Government to place Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on the list of terrorist organisations.

Since that date, he has camped in a tent outside the Foreign Affairs Office on King Charles St in London. At the time of writing this petition he has not eaten for 44 days and has lost almost 20% of his body mass. I am extremely concerned about my husband’s health, but he is determined to continue his hunger strike until this important goal is achieved. Adding the IRGC to the list of terrorist organisations will be a huge step towards achieving global peace as the IRGC’s terror activities are not limited to the borders of Iran, where people have been brutally oppressed. 

Freedom of speech & security here in the UK, and across the globe, are under severe threat.

Here are some reasons, amongst many others, as to why the IRGC is a terrorist organisation:

• They are one of the largest state-sponsors of terrorism in the world.
• Supplying arms and drones to Russia in order to target and kill innocent Ukrainian civilians.
• Responsible for shooting down Ukrainian Flight 752 with two surface-to-air missiles, killing all 176 passengers and crew aboard.
• Responsible for the promotion of extremism and radicalisation through its global networks of religious centres, under the umbrella of the Al-Mustafa International University.
• Responsible for the AMIA bombing in Argentina in 1994, targeting a Jewish Community Centre, killing 85, and injuring over 300 people.
• Main supporter of Hamas and Hezbollah who are recognised as terrorist organisations within the UK.
• The power that underpins a regime that has the highest number of executions per-capita in the world.
• Responsible for kidnapping & executing journalists & dual nationals, including multiple assassinations outside of Iran.
• Responsible for 15 terror assassinations in the UK foiled by MI5 since 2022
• Known to have killed British civilians around the world and UK armed forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.
• Attempted bomb attack on British MPs.
• Radicalising British citizens in the UK using its network of religious centres.
• Recruiting members of organised crime groups to target opponents of the regime on British soil.
• Harmed freedom of the press in the UK by attempting attacks on London-based Iranian news channel.
• Cyber attacks against UK critical national infrastructure.
• Hostage-taking policy, arbitrarily detaining dual and British nationals to use as bargaining chips, such as Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliffe, Anoushe Ashouri and Peter Moore.
• Execution of British-Iranian dual national Alireza Akbari on Jan 23.

I am calling on you to help raise awareness of the sacrifice my husband is making for the sake of humanity. He is grateful to the many journalists and political figures who have met with him so far, however, action has still not been taken by the government and with every day that passes, he moves a step closer to permanently damaging his health.

- مسئول بمب گذاری آمیا در آرژانتین در سال ۱۹۹۴ میلادی، هدف قرار دادن یک مرکز جامعه یهودیان، کشته شدن ۸۵ نفر و مجروح شدن بیش از ۳۰۰ نفر.
- حامی اصلی حماس و حزب الله که به عنوان سازمان های تروریستی در بریتانیا شناخته می شوند.
کسانیکه رژیم را در ایران اداره می‌کنند باعث شده‌اند که ایران بیشترین تعداد اعدام سرانه را در جهان داشته باشد.
- مسئول ربودن و اعدام روزنامه نگاران و افراد دوتابعیتی، از جمله ترورهای متعدد در خارج از ایران.
- مسئول ۱۵ اقدام تروریستی در بریتانیا که توسط MI ۵ از سال ۲۰۲۲ خنثی شد
- مسئول کشته شدن غیرنظامیان انگلیسی در سراسر جهان و نیروهای مسلح بریتانیا در عراق و افغانستان.
- حمله بمبی به نمایندگان پارلمان بریتانیا
- رادیکالیزه کردن شهروندان بریتانیایی در بریتانیا با استفاده از شبکه مراکز مذهبی آن.
- جذب اعضای گروه‌های جرائم سازمان یافته برای هدف قرار دادن مخالفان رژیم در خاک بریتانیا.
-تلاش برای حمله به کانال خبری فارسی زبان مستقر در لندن به آزادی مطبوعات در بریتانیا آسیب می‌رساند.
- حملات سایبری علیه زیرساخت های ملی و حیاتی بریتانیا
- سیاست گروگان گیری، بازداشت خودسرانه اتباع دوتابعیتی و انگلیسی برای استفاده به عنوان ابزار معامله، مانند نازنین زاغری رتکلیف، انوشه عاشوری و پیتر مور.
- اعدام علیرضا اکبری دوتابعیتی ایرانی-انگلیسی در ۲۳ ژانویه سالجاری.
