Immigration and Customs Enforcement has mandated that all international students return to their home countries if they are studying at universities that have transitioned to an online format. This petition demands that HSU safely offer a 1 unit in person classes for international students. International students like all other human beings have multiple identities, some are escaping from troubled homes, some are fleeing countries that would persecute them for their identities as LGBT+ people. HSU claims to be an institution dedicated to social justice, and as students we must demand HSU follow through. International students already pay a much higher cost for their education, so to require they leave the country is a slap in the face to the vulnerable students among them. Please sign the petition to help students maintain their student visas and shield them from the possible persecution if forced to relocate.
