Humanitarian Solution Proposal for Minorities in Syria - Urgent request

Das Problem

Problem:

Since March 7, 2025, minorities, particularly the Alawites, in the coastal region of Syria have been systematically murdered. The current regime has neither the control nor the will to address the situation. There are numerous reports and disturbing videos in which radical Islamists cold-bloodedly kill civilians from minorities, primarily Alawites. These videos were recorded by the attackers themselves, in which they celebrate their actions. The victims, including women, children, the elderly, and disabled individuals, are considered supporters of the Assad regime, although many of them have been oppressed by this very regime.

It is an ethnic cleansing campaign against minorities carried out by radical Islamists. The perpetrators are largely foreign fighters, mainly from Central Asia, as seen in many videos.

Unfortunately, this ethnic cleansing continues. However, the radical Islamists are no longer recording videos and are now killing individuals instead of committing mass massacres. Their leadership has instructed them not to post these acts on social media in order to avoid international attention. Nevertheless, the brutal crimes persist, and the danger for the Alawites remains high.

Proposed solution:

We propose giving EU or German citizens the opportunity to bring their family members from Syria, without immediately providing them with social benefits. Instead, these individuals should be allowed to work immediately and contribute to society. The inviting person would be legally and financially responsible for the migrants. A special, expedited work visa for well-educated professionals and their families could help bypassing the bureaucratic and lengthy embassy processes that often delay timely assistance. This solution would not only save lives but also offer the affected people a chance for quick integration and participation in the labor market.

Why this solution:

This solution could provide the affected Alawites and Christians with a safe future, while also making a positive contribution to society in Europe by alleviating the shortage of skilled workers and strengthening the pension system. Additionally, it offers a way to avoid problems related to the social welfare system, as migrants would not immediately be reliant on state assistance. It would also ensure that only well-integrated, employable individuals enter the labor market. In doing so, this approach could help restore trust in the asylum system by preventing abuse.

We urgently call on decision-makers to take immediate action by implementing programs that allow minorities to safely leave Syria, start new lives, and contribute positively to their new communities. We are deeply grateful for your support and swift action on this critical matter.
