Justice for the Stateless People in Kuwait, Justice for Ali Khaled, Justice for all.
The Issue
Bidoons (stateless, without a nationality) in Kuwait are banned from working and joining universities, many of them do not have birth certificates, death certificates nor a drivers license, instantly making them devoid of so many of their human rights. They are not permitted to work inside of Kuwait OR to travel outside of Kuwait. According to several human rights organisations, There are currently 110,729 officially registered Bidoons in Kuwait, only 34,000 of them being eligible for a Kuwaiti citizenship, and the rest being declared as foreign nationals.
There has recently been a list of suicides, and suicide attempts, from Bidoons in Kuwait, the most recent being of 23, February 2021. The suicide of 11 year old Ali Khaled. 11 YEARS OLD! from the Sulaibiya region, reportedly hung himself in his room.
Ayed Hamad Med'ath was found hanging by a rope in his shack in Kuwait's al-Jahraa governorate after he was denied a job for not holding a security card, family members and social media users reported.
The 27-year-old man, Talal al-Khulaifi, attempted to kill himself by self-immolation in protest against his living conditions in the Sulaibiya region.
And many more.
Please share this petition around, as much as you can. We must be their voice, they deserve to be heard. They deserve to live long fulfilled lives, and not have them cut short by suicides. They deserve a solution to end this issue, and they deserve it now. We must unite, and help each other as much as we can
