The Issue
I understand during these times of COVID 19, and economic hardships it can cause the workplace to be a stressful environment. However, stress is not an excuse to treat your co-worker with disrespect or malice! And that is what happened to me. I am a woman suffering from PTSD from an abusive relationship.
After almost 2 years at my job, a job I truly loved, where I received three raises, a male co-worker yelled at me and berated me in front of my team. When I reported it to my superior, I was pressured to apologize to him. After doing so, I was then terminated on Thanksgiving Day.
I believe in my heart, it was a hasty decision. The idea of leaving the job I used to rush out of bed for and searching for a new one in a pandemic is unacceptable to me. I just want other women and workers to stand up for me to HELP ME GET MY JOB BACK. But it doesn't stop here. I know there are other women (and men) who have been bullied and harassed. I want to help them as well. So, I have started what I call #YOUTOO Movement. You too can make a change! YouToo can stop bullying! YouToo can help bring peace! YouToo can make a difference! I'm standing up for justice & fairness. SIGN FOR #YOUTOO!
