16-year-old Emily J. from Tyler, Texas was placed in a mental hospital on June 18, 2020 by her parents for being LGBTQ+ and further, for dating a Black female.

For the last few weeks, Emily has been stripped of every form of communication to her outside family and friends and has been cut off from anyone that openly supports her. 

While this action taken by her parents is horrific, it is unfortunately legal in Texas and given that Emily is a minor.

Please show support to Emily by signing this petition. Send it to everyone you know and show her that her and her partner are loved and not alone. There may be little we can do legally as she's a minor, we can show her that we stand with her and her significant other. Love is love and homophobia paired with racism is not to be tolerated.
