Once again I am astounded how political gamesmanship can trump common sense.  The HRC has endorsed republican Senator Mark Kirk from IL. over his challenger Tammy Duckworth.  Kirk has a 78% (C+) scorecard with the organization while Duckworth compiled a score of 100% (A+) while in congress.  Apparently, in an effort to appear non political, HRC has decided to support a republican with a lower score.  This begs the question - who else do they endorse using a curve?  When a person is running for office and they attain a 100% rating - they deserve our support not to be tossed aside like a rag in the obtuse hope that by helping the republicans retain the senate majority, lives of LBGTQ citizens will miraculously improve.  Newsflash -  the republicans will not suddenly "like us".  Look across this country at the laws being passed by republican legislatures and signed by republican governors - elected republicans despise our very nature and willfully use God as justification for their hate.  No part of endorsing on a curve will affect that hatred.  Seems to me that Chad Griffin and his HRC minions care more about fawning for approval from the enemy, than fighting for what is right. This is the wrong message to send every LBGTQ youth.  You fight for respect, not beg for it.   So now is the time to redirect the HRC  - stop all donations until the political endorsements and the effects of those endorsements, reflect the reality of 2016 America.  While  Chad and the rest of the well paid staff of the HRC may want another Justice Scalia - that would not serve the interest of our community - nor should our money be used to increase the likelihood of that outcome...
