Demand Center for Women's History to mention rampant white female racism towards POC
The Issue
John Muir, the founding fathers, Columbus, Wood Wilson, Churchill, etc have all been targeted and rightly so for this racist views and images and have been erased from the public. The same needs to be done to white women.
They're just as culpable and even more vicious. Please read this article from NYtimes with an open eye:
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/28/opinion/sunday/suffrage-movement-racism-black-women.html
"...Stripped of her halo, Stanton, the campaign’s principal philosopher, is exposed as a classic liberal racist who embraced fairness in the abstract while publicly enunciating bigoted views of African-American men, whom she characterized as “Sambos” and incipient rapists in the period just after the war. The suffrage struggle itself took on a similar flavor, acquiescing to white supremacy ..."
"demanded that black participants march in an all-black assembly at the BACK of the parade instead of with their state delegations."
We are demanding "Center for Women's History" in New York mention this racism and take down exhibits celebrating these people: Elsa Barkley Brown, Lori Ginzberg and Rosalyn Terborg-Penn, and Susan B. Anthony.
If we are doing this to the white racist men of the past, these white women also do not deserve a pass.
