RENEW HIGH FIDELITY ON HULU

The Issue

High Fidelity on Hulu gave us a diverse cast of characters that many people could relate to. We have Rob played by Zoe Kravitz, who is a Black bisexual woman recovering from heartache and in the process of moving on she visits her old top five heartbreaks. Simon played by David H. Holmes, a gay man who recently discovered his sexuality after dating Rob and tries to explore his sexuality and Cherise played by Da'Vine Joy Randolph, a Black woman trying to find her passion in music and life, working towards her goals. What’s better is that these character are exploring all these themes in their later twenties, a refreshing sight seeing as these themes are usually only explored by high school characters in movies and shows. High Fidelity showed how powerful each actor was and resonated with people of all ages. It was the diverse cast that captivated and held viewers, leaving us on a perfect cliffhanger for a season 2. It is a disservice to millions of fans, specifically Black, LGTBQ and POC fans, who haven’t been represented in such a unique way before. The show felt organic and authentic in the way it portrayed  the characters and their struggles. We all felt connected to this ensemble and it is absolutely heart wrenching to see this show get canceled after one season. This show has a story to tell and it’s not finished, we the fans are begging you to reconsider renewing this show. We see the potential and we know you see it too. Please renew High Fidelity for Season 2 or at least let another streaming service pick it up!
