Save our children's 16,000 clay bricks

16,000 children in hull decorated clay bricks as part of a project for the hull city of culture which was to represent laying the foundations and paving the way to a promising future for our under 5's.
The bricks are currently on display in hull but as from the 5th of November we have learned that the majority of these bricks are going to be broken up and recycled as hardcore in a nature reserve in brough at the quarry where the clay came from. This will not be a place that the public are allowed to go and visit to see their children's bricks.
We strongly believe that the bricks should be built up into some sort of permanent structure somewhere in the town centre so that the bricks can be celebrated and the children can grow up being able to see their work and feel part of something special in the city.
We do not feel that breaking up these bricks portrays a very good message to our children.
Please sign your support if you would also like to see the bricks built into a permanent piece of art in the city rather then be destroyed and broken up.
