Cafe Sol Greenwich lease renewal in Royal Greenwich, London, by Greenwich Hospital Trust once the redevelopment is completed.

Cafe Sol Greenwich lease renewal in Royal Greenwich, London, by Greenwich Hospital Trust once the redevelopment is completed.

The Issue

Cafe Sol Greenwich lease renewal in Royal Greenwich, London, by Greenwich Hospital Trust once the redevelopment is completed.

Cafe Sol Greenwich site at 13 Nelson road, Royal Greenwich, SE10 9JB has been in the Remzi family  since 1978 for 3 generations to date. Cafe Sol Greenwich  was opened in 1992 and has become a land mark as well as a second home to many residents. Trough the years we have built a regular business through the support of our local community.

We were negotiating a new lease from our previous landlords when to my surprise we received an eviction letter to vacate the premises as it was purchased by The Greenwich Hospital Trust a non profit making trust managed by B.N.P Paribas Real Estates, as they wish to redevelop the building. We have no objection to this but we are concerned as we are loosing the lease thus the closure of Cafe Sol Greenwich. We employ over 20 staff some of whom have been with us for over ten to fifteen years. We are also concerned about them loosing their employment, Many small businesses have been closed through a similar process, especially small restaurants that are owned by individual entrepreneurs.

We have paid our rent on time every month with out fail for over 30 years therefore we don't see any reason why we should not be granted the new lease after the completion of the redevelopment.

Small businesses are being evicted and replaced by high covenant companies, faceless companies??. We believe that Royal Greenwich is loosing its identity, quaintness, and character of what it used to be. Please help us not to be like every other High St in London by supporting our petition and show Greenwich Hospital Trust that the community wishes for Cafe Sol Greenwich to remain in Royal Greenwich.

Please consider signing and sharing this petition as support of Greenwich Hospital Trust negotiating a new lease agreement with Cafe Sol Greenwich Tex-Mex Cantina

Thank you for taking the time to help us and give your support.
