The city of Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony is once again taking the lead in the fight for civil rights and equal protection under the law.

Mayor Lovely A. Warren, Assemblyman Harry Bronson, Rochester City Council and members of Rochester’s LGBTQ community are coming together to demand action on the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA).

Rochester is one of only a handful of New York municipalities that offer protections for transgender citizen. That means too many New Yorkers still live in communities where these protections are denied.  Assemblyman Bronson has co-sponsored the GENDA in the NYS Assembly, but year after year the legislation dies in the State Senate.
