JOLLYES PETFOOD SUPERSTORES are advertising in their stores that "Pets make great Christmas presents......" 

This is totally irresponsible and wrong. We all know the saying pets are for life not just for Christmas... but it goes beyond that...Not only does this sign encourage "impulse purchase".. Introducing a new pet into a home is a stressful time for that animal.. time, patience and peace, quiet and routine are needed.. Christmas is not the best time to meet those requirements.

Potentially the purchased animals might end up traumatized - developing behavioural problems. Or the recipient might not be able to afford on-going pet care costs. Eventually resulting in the pet been given up for re-homing.

Let us show Jollyes that they have made a big mistake in this marketing and encourage them to promote responsible pet ownership - please sign the petition.
