Demand the AFIYA center to remove harmful billboard targeting black women and families.

The Issue

This petition is to stop the AFIYA center from targeting our black women for abortion services. This petition was ignited by black women. We can educate our men and women towards making better decisions to prevent pregnancy for those who don't wish to have children at this point and time in their lives.

There are life-affirming choices and measures that allow for both mother and child to live and thrive. Black women have been torn and hurt by abortion. We are tired of being told that we cannot achieve our goals and dreams with a unplanned pregnancy in our path. We are further tired of being told that our maternal healthcare and lives are safer and more valuable undergoing an abortion vs recieving loving, supportive, and equal/adequate healthcare by giving birth. Our solution to maternal healthcare equity does not lie in abortion, but striving to assure black women recieve exceptional maternal healthcare treatment for herself and her baby.

Black women are no longer buying into the lie of abortion as our ticket to freedom. We see abortion as follows:

1) A direct attack on human live. When one black life is taken in defenseless violence, it matters. #blacklivesmatter

2) A direct attack on black women, damaging the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual psyche.  The industry continues to further ignore the long lasting psychological effects abortion can cause, calling it a myth rather then listening to post abortive women who regret.

3) A direct attack on black families. Black women are disproportionally making up the 1/3 of abortion. AFIYA continues to resort to a band-aid solution that does not solve the underlining issues. Abortion has become an attractive product to the people surrounding the pregnant woman; lovers, family, & friends who would pressure abortion to relive themselves of what they see a a “burden”. Abortion has becoming silent lingering thorns in black families.

4) A direct attack on the black community. Abortion has played its part in drastically reducing the numbers of the black population along with police brutality, prison pipeline, and healthcare mistreatment. Our population continues to maintain a certain range. This has hindered the community to branch and grow establishing our own schools, real estate,  banks, grocery stores, retail businesses, and hospitals. Success is slowly developing, but abortion continues to target minority communities to eradicate concentrated populations of black families leaving our communities vulnerable to real estate developement meant to raise taxes for the colonization of our communities.

This is a new generation and we are woke as hell. We KNOW what abortion is. We KNOW what it’s original intent has been throughout history ecspecially effecting the black community. We KNOW what it does. We will not not allow ourselves or our children to continue to become targets and victims of racial violence sparked by radical white feminism. We are the New Wave.

We ask that our allies and supporters stand strong with us.
