Cut down the amount of forests being destroyed

Cut down the amount of forests being destroyed

The Issue

I chose to research this topic because it is affecting so many things in the world. Animals are losing their homes every day due to deforestation. Many animals are extinct due to it. We lose so many plant species every year, a lot of these plants can be used for curing diseases and treating sicknesses. The sad thing is that we may not have discovered some of these lifesaving organisms. I also wanted to research deforestation because it is allowing greenhouse gases to rise to the atmosphere, causing global warming. Which affects other animals that don’t live in the forests like polar bears or the fish in all bodies of water. The water cycle has many factors to it, bodies of water, the sun, clouds, rain, mountains and trees. Every single one of these factors are just as important as the rest. Trees supply water to clouds, which creates rain, which hydrates the soil and goes back to the trees. Trees also have a large impact on our health, carbon dioxide is produced by us every day. Trees take that carbon dioxide and release oxygen. We need that oxygen to survive. The less trees, the less oxygen being produced, the harder it is for us and any other animal to breath. These are just some of the few reasons why I chose to do my research report on deforestation. I think that everyone can use less paper and buy things with less packaging, email the companies that do use access packaging and let them know. Purchase reusable items, instead of using plastic or paper bags that you will most likely throw away after, use bags that you can reuse and wash if need be. When buying wood products, look for Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) on the product. These small acts can have a large impact if we all participate.
