Say NO to Haswood Poultry Broilers Units (Hasfield)

The Issue

Welcome to the information page opposing Haswood Ltd's proposed 98,000 chicken rearing intensive operation at Woodside Farm, Hasfield.

This industrial sized proposal will undoubtedly have a massive impact on the village and surrounding area regarding noise, smell, additional large vehicle movement, pollutants extracted in to the atmosphere and not to mention the future value of residential properties. To give you an idea of the size and nature of the development, approximately 98,000 birds will be raised every 6 weeks, in 2 sheds known as broiler houses, each 400ft long. Also, the possibility of a third shed has not been dismissed.

A working party has already been established in the village to fight the proposal and anyone who feels as strongly about the matter as we do is welcome to sign the petition here.  Many many thanks
