PrEP is a HIV prevention drug that is available free of charge in every city in Ireland except for Cork. This must change. The people of Cork deserve equal access to PrEP and testing. 

PrEP has been shown internationally to be very effective at reducing the rate of new infections. Last year, the Government announced that it was going to spend €5.4m to make PrEP available across Ireland as part of a national PrEP Programme. Without access to PrEP in Cork, the Republic's second-largest city, this programme can't be called a national one. 

Access to healthcare shouldn't be a postcode lottery. The staffing issues that are preventing the PrEP HIV prevention clinic from opening in Cork must be tackled as a matter of urgency. We are calling on the CEO of the HSE and the Minister for Health to work together to solve this issue immediately. 

Without prevention tools like PrEP HIV rates in Cork will increase. We can't allow that to happen.
