Hello Folks,
With 225 signatures our campaign is coming along nicely; now we are seeking your assistance in an urgent email campaign in addition to the petition. We are asking for your help to send 2 emails. One to Bell, BEFORE November 12th and a 2nd to HRM as soon as possible, ideally the same day; the 2 distribution lists follow at the end of this message.
To assist in this effort we are providing short messages that you can add an intro and closing.
FOR HRM correspondence:
We would ask that you compose and email, with a personal introduction and include the following message:
The telecommunications tower proposed by Bell Canada for Three Fathom Harbour, does not address the concerns that were raised by the community, nor the concerns contained in the staff report which resulted in HRM issuing a negative recommendation to the Eastlink site proposed for Crowell (Porter's Lake) Road. According to the staff report the site is not less intrusive on the community values sought to be protected and "Staff believes the tower is not compatible with the community character, that the scenic views are materially adversely affected and that the landscape aesthetics are diminished by a visual incursion in the unobstructed scenic view."
We would also ask that you also include the following line, or a variation of it in your closing.
As our elected officials we expect that you will continue to represent the wishes of the community, and maintain the negative recommendation as this site has not addressed the concerns that resulted in HRMs negative recommendation of the Eastlink site; or the concerns of the community.
FOR The Bell Correspondence:
An intro of who you are and your opposition, and include the following:
Can you please explain how a tower of similar height in the same view plain addresses the concerns that were raised by the community during the Eastlink Consultations and were the basis of HRM's negative recommendation?
Bell is required to acknowledge you correspondence and respond to it.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
