Most recently Bell Aliant has proposed a 75m (246ft) cell tower in Three Fathom Harbour, located between Lawrencetown and Seaforth; the total elevation of the structure, including the foundation, would be 87m (285ft.) This cell tower would have similar impacts on the beach area as the proposed Eastlink cell tower on Crowell Rd., Lawrencetown. The Bell Aliant cell tower would be blatantly visible from Lawrencetown Beach, Hwy 207, the Atlantic View Trail, Porters Lake, Three Fathom Harbour and Seaforth. This giant cell tower would create a significant obstruction of the scenic environment of the Lawrencetown and Seaforth beaches area.
Tourists from all over the world love the area for its unspoiled landscape. Lawrencetown Beach Provincial Park attracts thousands of tourists each year. Scenic views from seashores are limited and finite resources. The affected scenery, once significantly decreased, is irreplaceable. The proposed tower, if built, would be there for many decades and would have a significant, persistent and long term negative effect on the community character and landscape during its lifetime.
Where wanted smaller monopole towers could be erected. Monopoles are one of the visually least intrusive and easiest communication towers to erect.
