Remove Govt. Control over Hindu Temples

Temples in Tamil Nadu are administered by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. There is no accountability and it is ridden with corruption. The temples are reflected as loss-making entities despite the high amounts of donations made by devotees. The smaller temples do not have caretakers or priests and we can see many such temples going to ruins. Priests are not employees of HR&CE and paid very poorly and are asked to depend on devotee offerings to make up for the difference. We question the constitutional legality of HR&CE's control in temples and the religious practices.
Temples have to pay high taxes for all income. Other religions manage their own places of worship and either do not pay tax or have a minimum income beyond which only they have to pay tax. They are also allowed to run their own schools which Hindus are not allowed.
The situation is similar in many states in our country.
This is the extreme level of disparity which the majority religion is facing in its homeland. Please sign and get more and more people to sign.
