I am seeing improvements to the game. 19 clubs in the Premier League want VAR. I think that if we are going to continue with it. Then I think we need to reach a level like rugby, where you can hear the ref's voice. In the stadium. Maybe have a 'meet the ref' in the match day programme. Make it less in-personal. I think at the moment. The ref comes along, and obviously he is in authority. But it's about humanising the ref, and talking to them. And when we do this, we break down barriers. Yet at the moment.

I don't know, I mean, technology, is everywhere now. Cameras, and it's just getting to the stage now where. I go to the game. I understand, the refs in charge. I understand that, he has decisions to make. And I think that it's just, from my perspective. If you play well. You don't lean on the ref.

If you play well, and the ref disallows lots of your goals. Then you can still win, and I think it's just. Not every decision is going to be perfect, but, it reaches the stage where. They do have an influence on the game, and all I would say is maybe mix the refs around a bit. And maybe introduce more of them, because when the final whistle has gone. You can't have a rematch, it's impossible. Yet, it's important, for the captains to speak to the ref, if they have a concern. He's there to help, not just officiate the game.

Yet, the whole system has changed to the point where. Things have changed. Health and Safety is a factor now, and a lot of other rules. Yet, I don't know. It just seems like, VAR is here to stay really. And, if you maybe had the refs, as, you know. Not just an authority figure. Yet, a lot of decisions are subjective.

Just concentrate on the football, and, just play by the rules, and the ref won't have an excuse to pull you up will he? If you go lunging in and hand balling and giving away silly penalties. Then it's the players fault more than the man enforcing the rules surely. Yet, a lot of the rules are subjective. So, that's why a bit more clarity, but I am enjoying the game. And no animosity from me really.

I think we should have meet and greets, and have conversations with refs, retired refs, and just have a chat with them. Yet, with decisions. I don't know. I can't and don't comment any more on the officiating. I just accept the decisions. It's just how it is with me. And you warm to some refs, like Anthony Taylor. I really have gotten to know him through the years. Not on a personal level. Yet by watching the games. I have seen an improvement in the way he officiates. So, it's the human element of the game really.
