Teacher/Coach Victor Murphy was forced to resign his positions with the Howard-Suamico school district, due to what most would consider a minor incident involving a student in one of his classes.  I believe most people would be astonished at the lack of channels that were not followed in making this decision, the severity of the punishment and the ease and carelessness in which this decision was made by the school districts human resources department.  Mr. Murphy has had a 26 year career as an outstanding physical education teacher, football and track coach, as well as being a exceptional citizen of the community his entire life.  This has affected Mr. Murphy, many of his past and present students, parents, colleagues, future educators and future students in an extremely negative way.  If this is the precedents the Howard-Suamico school board is going to set, every employee of the district should be in fear for their position.  I apologize if I have left anything out, but the intention is to present this petition to the school board at the March 16th board meeting, and demand Mr. Murphy be reinstated without delay.  I encourage everyone to attend and express your opinions.  Thank you.
