Having a traditional, in-person graduation is to dream of. Everyone looks forward to it including your friends and family. Even if it's not at Merriweather, the in-person graduation is better than virtual. I want to have that feeling of walking across the stage after 12+ years of being in school to get where I am today. Being a Senior at Atholton High School has given me a chance to find who I am. Even after respecting the change of color gowns the year after my sister graduated, I would love to have my personal gown to remember and cherish. We could easily have waited with the circumstances with Covid-19 and pushed the decision back at a later date as HCPSS suggested with the "in-person celebration". This petition is to show hcpss that the Class of 2020 stands united and wants you to reconsider your decision on virtual graduation.
