We have less than 11 years to avert irreversible crisis, but we can turn around our fate. We have the solutions and we just have to walk the walk this time! 
Have we not noticed the sea level rise and flooding that is affecting our state of Maryland right now and elsewhere? This isn’t about #savetheplanet, people are dying! 
We need the Howard County Council to declare a climate emergency and break the constant climate silence and be a true climate leader. If Howard County claims to care so much about their citizens and pride in being a healthy and green place to live, then Howard County must do this! 
Climate change isn’t just an “environmental problem.” Climate change is also a health and education problem. An economic and equality problem. And a community, social justice, and global problem. We have everything to lose if we don’t act, and everything to gain when we do act, so please make this emergency a priority.
