Allow Virtual Debate Tournaments in Howard County

Allow Virtual Debate Tournaments in Howard County
Currently, debate teams across the country are forced to compete virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In Howard County, debaters from the 12 high schools are unable to compete in the same capacity in national and regional tournaments as those in neighboring counties and states.
Sports have long been given the go-ahead for in-person competition, and debate teams should be allowed to at least compete virtually. Currently, Howard County is only allowing debate teams to compete in small local circuits, restricting us from competing at higher-level competitions, that even though many of us work hard to qualify for, are held back by the field trip policy.
Help us reach the Board of Education and make this field trip policy change for debate teams across the county! We want this for our debaters, any support is super cool :)
