Assistant Superintendent Daniel Combs called me personally this afternoon to discuss the concerns of the petition. He was very understanding and is looking into the current grading system, policies, and promises to follow up with Alvin Community College in relation to the partnership with the school district. I trust that he will do just that. He assured me and wants to assure our community that it is administrations goal to ensure all students are receiving personalized instruction and on a definite path to success. Not to long after speaking with Assistant Superintendent Combs. Nolan Ryan Jr High’s new Principal Angela Marquez called to follow up on the petition. She also wanted to express gratitude for the feedback and awareness brought about by this petition. She wants everyone to know that the faculty and administrators have open door policies and welcome dialogue about concerns and areas that the district can improve in. Way to go Alvin ISD! Thank you for taking the concerns of the community seriously. We will await a response from Alvin Community College.
