Petition updateHouston's high glare LED street lights are a danger to night vision and health.
Petition needs to be introduced to new areas of Houston

If you have friends in areas of Houston that are just beginning to see the new LED street lights, please forward this petition to them for information BEFORE their area is saturated. Even though we have not yet stopped the tide of white LEDs, we continue to send information to City officials and members of the press in Houston. A Houston Public Media reporter called us to publicize the petition just as it was beginning to stall out at 652 signatures. We got 7 news signatures today and we have new expertise including a lighting architect and a member of the Texas International Dark-Sky Association board willing to help out, but it sure helps them if interest and comments continue to appear here. Also be sure to call your City Council representative. Areas not yet done include north and northwest Houston as well as the Clear Lake area, but now is your only chance to move to warmer LEDs. There is plenty of precedent for large cities including Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington DC changing course late in the game. Chicago recently hired one of our lighting engineer advisors who will install only warm white LEDs there. Attached is warm white low glare LED lighting in Tucson. Thanks!
