Hello!

I am starting a petition due to the lack of not caring or understanding from Housing or the Government themselves. For far too long, things that we apply for, when asking for assistance, have been based on our Gross Pay and not our Net Pay. We are told that we make too much for any or all assistance programs, but in reality, we don't. The thing is that we wouldn't need assistance if we could actually bring home that Groos Pay that we see. I feel that it isn't fair especially when you have to pay separate utilities, on top of buying high priced groceries, paying a car note, insurance and providing for our children. Yes, purchasing a vehicle is our choice/decision, but it is a necessity/reliable transportation to get us around to appointments, grocery shopping, work, etc., but you're asking a person with zero income if they pay car note or insurance, rather than the head of household. I believe that being a US born citizen, originally from the Prince George's County MD area, to be turned down from government assistance is insane, especially when basing it from my Gross Pay. There has to be a better way. We have people coming from all over to reside out here and they get the approval, but can have car dealerships, restaurants or 15 people living in one home, but I'm a single mother and have no help. I pay everything myself and they tell me that I make too much money.

There are so many questions and concerns that we have about the system that's supposedly supports us in time of need or just support in general. I need all of your support to make a change for not just us or those that have Section 8 vouchers, Low-income housing or subsidized housing. This is for every human being in general. This is for every person on this earth that is trying to make it in today's society. Let's please spread the word, share this petition and make a change if we can. During these times, we need all the help that we can get. Food pantries just aren't going to cut it in the homes. 

I feel that things need to be looked into, organized and investigated in a better manner.
