Rep. Nunes has announced that he has some form of intercepts revealing that lawfully gathered intelligence on foreign officials included information on members of President Trump's team. If accurate, this information should have been shared with his fellow members of the House Intelligence Committee, but it was not.

Instead, the committee only learned of this information after Rep. Nunes shared it with the press and, subsequently, with the White House. These transmissions are improper given that this matter is currently under investigation. As Rep. Schiff has noted, other members of the committee have grave concerns that a credible investigation cannot be conducted in this manner.

Since Chairman Nunes has demonstrated that he cannot be trusted to handle this type of classified information in an appropriate manner, he is not fit to continue participating in the committee's investigation of any ties between President Trump, has campaign team, and representatives of the Russian government. In order for the investigation to retain it's integrity and credibility, Rep. Nunes must recuse himself.
