The amount of heartbreak and destruction losing a pet from natural causes are bad enough but for individuals and gangs that are targeting our beloved pets to sell on to unsuspecting buyers or worse used in illegal activities such as dog fighting or used as breeding stock in puppy mills, this must stop in the UK.

Thieves are targeting owners with dogs and then demanding money as ransom this if it were a human is flat out kidnapping and extortion.

We as a nation need to say enough is enough and get the current laws changed with much stiffer sentencing and a central database of people convicted of this type of crime.
