Sky Laterns have been set off by ourselves for many years now and in those years they have time and time again caused endless pain and unneeded suffering to the wildlife and the enviroment we all live in. Around 200,000 are sold every single year in the UK alone none of which are fully biodegradable.

On New Years Day 2020 a German Zoo was set ablaze and up to 30 animals were burned alive due to sky lanterns landing in the grounds and setting the building on fire.

In 2017 a Barn Owl was found dead after getting it's head tangled in the wire and being unable to remove it. Numerous other birds have also been found dead in connection to these laterns. 

In 2011 three cows were found dead in Guernsey due to lanterns landing in their field and them eating the wire from them.

Farmers have even expressed their worry on this subject many times due to the waste metal being left in their fields and collected in their crops which is then unfortunately fed to their animals without their knowledge. 

Given the fact we can not control where these lanterns land I think they should be banned. They are an extreme risk and hazard to life and a toxic waste to the enviroment. 

Please help end this unnecessary suffering now and help make the world we live in a better, healthier and happier place!
