House censure Republican actions at Joint Session

The Issue

Let's end rude behavior in Congress before it gets out of hand!  The hallowed ritual of the President addressing a joint session of Congress was marred on October 9 by many House Republicans, most notably Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) who shouted "Liar!" and "Not true!" Several Republican representatives hissed and booed.  Such incivility demeans the image of elected representatives, tarnishes the office of the president, and damages our democracy.  The Republican leadership should censure Mr. Wilson for violating House rules and demand an apology to the American people.
