The Issue

I like many people in London have relied on Lime Bikes as a vital mode of transport for the past three years, enabling us to commute to work and navigate around London efficiently. Not only is it a safe, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective means of transportation, but it also provides a refreshing and pleasant alternative to the crowded tube or bus networks.

Unfortunately, Hounslow Council has recently decided to revoke Lime’s license in our borough, opting instead for Forest or Voi bikes. This change has been incredibly inconvenient and frustrating for many e-bike users in Hounslow. We now face significant daily challenges without the reliable presence of Lime bikes.

One major issue is the availability of alternatives. We can rarely find a Forest or Voi bike for return journies, which disrupts daily routines and prolongs commute times. Additionally, the quality of Forest and Voi bikes leaves much to be desired. They are often of poor quality and present safety concerns, which makes us apprehensive to use them as a regular means of transport.

Lime Bikes offered a peace of mind and reliability that we now find lacking in the alternatives. It is crucial for Hounslow residents to have access to safe, reliable, and eco-friendly transportation options. Reinstating Lime Bikes in Hounslow would not only benefit those of us who have grown to depend on this service but also align with broader environmental goals by reducing reliance on fossil fuels and lowering emissions.

Hounslow Council, please consider the inconvenience and dissatisfaction caused by the removal of Lime Bikes and bring back this essential service to our community. We deserve better transportation solutions that align with our needs and safety.

Sign this petition to urge Hounslow Council to listen to the residents’ voices and reinstate Lime Bikes in our borough.
