Reject the 'West of Ifield' Housing plan and Propose a 'West of Ifield Nature Reserve.'

The Issue

It's clear that a large majority of those in Ifield, Bewbush and Langley Green, along with the rest of Crawley do not want a 10,000 home development to the west of Ifield. It is obvious that this will only damage Crawley and benefit Horsham.

Most political parties are in opposition to this in Crawley, and we are no different in the Crawley Green Party.

We would, however, like to see how many people agree with us that we can go one massive step further, and push for the land West of Ifield to become a Nature Reserve and be better protected as a result.

It won't be easy, but if enough of us come together to demand this, we can make it happen.

We've all talked at length about the easy target for housing our borders make to neighbouring councils, but nobody has really come up with a solution.

We believe that this is a close to perfect solution, that we can all get behind to protect our Green spaces and local wildlife, while also keeping Crawley, Green, attractive and a pleasant place to live for all who call it home.

We propose a West of Ifield Nature Reserve covering the current proposed land for housing, possibly linking up with the existing Willoughby Fields Nature Reserve to the north east.
