Horry County School Board: We, the entire Carolina Forest community, are petitioning to keep our children in their community for middle school without overcrowding.
This petition made change with 150 supporters!
It is important to the residents of Carolina Forest to stay within our community. Our kids have grown up together, they play recreational sports together, attend church together, Scouts together, etc.
As per two recent petitions, parents from Carolina Forest Elementary have expressed opposition to realignment and parents from River Oaks Elementary and Ocean Bay Elementary have done the same with the K-6 option. These two options being considered by the Horry County Board of Education perpetuate overcrowding. With realignment, Black Water Middle School will be overcrowded. With a K-6 option, all three elementary schools face logistical and overcrowding challenges.
We, as the entire Carolina Forest community, want what is best for our children and do NOT want our community divided. We want options beyond realignment and the shifting of overcrowding situations to be presented, evaluated, and strongly considered, including construction.
