Female students have to face sexism and body shaming every time they enter their school. School dress codes sexualize female bodies and discriminate based on gender. Girls bra straps, shoulders, legs, and stomachs are marked as inappropriate when they're not. Alameda, a school district in California has come up with a non-sexist dress code that would be a great solution for all schools. I have seen instances where principals target female students and tell them that their bodies are a distraction to boys. This mentality sends a message to girls that their education is not as important as male students and that students' expression is an inconvenience.
