On February 8, 2022 at 11:15am the Horizon League Conference has notified UIC that all their remaining competing teams are banned from all conference championships for the remainder of the school year. This includes the Swim & Dive Championships THAT START IN ONE WEEK! This has left everyone in the program shocked, hurt, and angry. To have everything this team has worked hard for over the entire school year be taken away from administrators whose primary job are to be advocates for students...hurts more than we could imagine.

The Horizon League should be embarrassed and feel guilty for ruining the aspirations and goals that every single one of these student-athletes have. This move is in direct violation of the Horizon League's mission statement: adding value to the educational experience through its core values: student-athlete well-being, integrity, respect and stewardship. 

We are asking everyone who signs this, to stand together with UIC Swim & Dive to have the right to finish off their season the way they deserve to...at their conference championships. #letUICcompete
