On May 31st, 2020, non-violent protesters took to the streets demanding justice for George Floyd and EJ Bradford. The Hoover Police Department murdered EJ Bradford in 2018. HPD brutally arrest protestors and then continued to target and brutalize anyone who came out for EJ Bradford. We demanded justice, and they gave us violence.

HPD was arresting protestors from May 31st, 2020 all the way to August 21st, 2020. Some protestors have up to thirteen charges for non-violent direct actions. We have only ever asked for justice but instead, they unlawfully arrest.

Protestors have yet to have court or any evidence presented against them. Hoover continues to push back the court date in an attempt to lose the people's momentum, but we won't let that happen. Join us in fighting back. Sign the petition to get all Hoover protestors charges dropped. 

Why we were arrested:

-Someone, a white woman, was drawing chalk on the sidewalk of the Hoover Library. She was not arrested, but the other Hoover protestors and organizers were arrested.

-Standing in the streets after they yanked and threw us into the streets.

-Laying on the ground.

-Standing on the grass.

-Getting onto the Hoover City Hall sign when just hours before Trump-supporting protestors climbed the sign.
