Welcome to those that have joined us since my last update and ongoing thanks to the supporters who have been along the ride since before. It has been another exciting day in what we've jokingly started to call the "campaign office" - somewhere between the nursing station in the living room, the kitchen table and the nursery.
Highlights from today's media appearances include 3 live radio interviews on 107.7 Pulse Mornings, CKNW 980 Lynda Steele Show [sorry about time...ended up on at 4:05 instead of 3:35] and CBC 690 On the Coast. All were very pleasant conversations and hopefully thought-provoking to listeners. We also had an interview and photoshoot with the Langley Times and then CBC was by as well for interview, pictures and video. I will include all the links I'm aware of to the media coverage below for you to review and share/send/talk about with everyone you know. Except the paper versions of the Province (FRONT PAGE) and the Vancouver Sun (not front but still great photo and article) as they aren't linkable - but I included Vancouver Sun web article in last update.
It's amazing to see how much press we are getting and I thank all the media contacts sincerely for their time and efforts in covering this very important matter. With us hitting over 1200 supporters today I can see that people really care about this topic, and the media knows it!! Please help us continue this momentum so we stay relevant and news worthy:) FYI that I will be live on Thursday August 30 at 7:20 on CFAX Radio in Victoria, BC. Tune in if you're up!
Equally important, some of you took the added step of finding me on facebook/messenger and reaching out to offer your assistance with this campaign and so I had a great conversation with a woman today who is now spear-heading our so-called "marketing/communications division." I really didn't expect to be learning how to put together a task group and organizing a campaign when I set out on this project, but it's a challenge I am grateful to have the problem to tackle:) So we have a website and logo underway and we have coined the name of our group "The Air We Share." So stay tuned for the website to be up and running as quickly as we can make that happen! I have also created an email address theairweshare@mail.com so please use that to be in touch with us directly.
Why get in touch you ask? We are still looking for anyone and everyone who is interested to be involved in parts as big or small as you like (and I don't even quite know yet what all those parts might be). But please let us know if you're interested and if you have a particular skillset you have to offer. I know that we will absolutely need some help with "legalese" down the road, so if anyone is for this cause and has some background in understanding law, policy, or specific details of the Residential Tenancy Act and/or Strata Property Act that would be fantastic.
Most importantly though, we are looking literally also just to be connected to you so we have a way to contact you for signing of the paper-based real petition, as well as to tap into your lived-experiences and use them to benefit and move of campaign forward (obviously we would absolutely ask your permission and inform you what we are thinking of doing before we would go ahead and do it...please rest assured we are honest and trustworthy!).
