K9 Qaybre, a courageous and devoted member of the Peel Police, has sadly passed away at the age of 13. Known for his exemplary service, Qaybre was more than just a police dog; he was a beloved partner and a hero to many in the community. His dedication and bravery helped ensure the safety and well-being of countless citizens in the Peel region, leaving an indelible impact on everyone who had the privilege of witnessing him in action.

Throughout his dedicated service, Qaybre assisted in numerous operations and was instrumental in many search and rescue missions. His acute senses and tireless spirit were pivotal in bringing criminals to justice and providing security across the region. The loss of such a valiant companion is deeply felt not only by the Peel Police Department but by the community as a whole.

In honour of K9 Qaybre’s outstanding contributions, we propose the erection of a memorial statue in Peel. This statue would serve as a lasting tribute to his service, a place where officers and community members can pay their respects and remember the unwavering spirit of Qaybre. Additionally, it would provide a symbol of recognition for all canine officers who work tirelessly and with valor in their service to the community.

We urge the Peel Regional Police and local government officials to support this proposal by allocating space and resources for the statue. By doing so, Peel can properly honour the legacy of K9 Qaybre and inspire future generations of officers, both human and canine, to serve with the same dedication and heart.
