Hi, everyone!

In August, I presented my ideas to honor Anna Arnold Hedgeman to civic and community leaders in Anoka, including Mayor Rice and the city council.  I made some positive connections with folks and canvassed the crowd at a Food Truck Festival. Recently, one of the those connections put me in contact with the Anoka chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. They are interested in joining forces to brainstorm ways to further honor Hedgeman. I am meeting with a  representative tomorrow evening and am excited for our efforts to gain more traction!

I've tried to find a route to the County Board of Commissioners, but was directed (deflected?) to the director of Libraries.  She said they "aren't able to change the name of the Library or offer a permanent display."

Well, this I already knew. That's why I was trying to get to the Board of Commissioners!

Anyway, she did provide a link where I could apply for a temporary exhibit space at libraries within Anoka County. That may be something to consider down the road if things don't move forward.

However, I'm not interested in anything token or temporary. Anna's life and legacy deserve permanent and visible recognition!

Thanks again for your support!  Keep sharing the petition via social media! Talk to you again soon!
