Our First Media Coverage!

Hi everyone!

It's been an exciting couple of weeks! Earlier this month I was contacted by a reporter for the Anoka County Union Herald. He wanted to run a story about our efforts to rename the Rum River Library to coincide with Black History Month. The article appeared in Friday's edition and I am very pleased with how it turned out. I hope that this will lead to some more exposure that will further highlight Anna Arnold Hedgeman's life and work and help gain support for renaming the library.

In other news, my friend Dawn and I are continuing to gather research about library renaming efforts undertaken by other cities so as to have a well-rounded and informed perspective. Our hope is to present something formally to county officials this spring.
