Chris Aivazian started this petition to Mr. Ahmad Farooq, Secretary to the President Honorable Mr. Mamnoon Hussain, President of Pakistan

As you know, stray dogs are treated very inhumanely all over the world in order to eliminate their population in big cities.  A few days ago, local authorities killed hundreds of poor stray dogs in Karachi, Pakistan.  This is not the first time this has happened in this country. This is something that is to be condemned and is shameful.  As Pakistan is a backward country, it is also not the best place for animal rights.  We are launching this petition in order to prevent such killing in the future, and want to record our grief and protest on this massacre of poor dogs.  The picture shows how harshly they are killed.  It is not a good sign for humanity for this kind of action to happen.

Their are many peaceful alternatives the authorities can implement to control the population of stray dogs, such as building a shelter for them or spay, neuter programs.  This is a request to all animal lovers and advocates to come forward and help influence our government to adapt more humane alternatives in dealing with the stray animal population in Pakistan.  Their is no need to continue such violent actions in the future.  Many peaceful alternatives exist to deal with the stray animal population.  We need your help in making a change for all the animals in Pakistan, who no fault of their own are stuck in a country where they are slaughtered for just being homeless.
