Well - we gave it our best shot - however 1818 Colwell Street - The Tito Garage built in 1922 representing Prohibition and the first distribution site of Rolling Rock Beer - will be demolished. The City of Pittsburgh Planning Commission unanimously approved the new building development - Referred to as 1903 Fifth Avenue Project.
However, in a very bright spot - Fountain Residential Partners has kindly agreed to refer to the area where the house sits as The Tito-Mecca-Zizza House and Property. This is so significant because The HRC did not approve the name - only referring to it as The Tito House. The name with be on signage around the complex as well as when referring to the area. We are very grateful.
As I have said over and over during this last 2 years plus - thank you to everyone who has stayed the course - supporting us. On behalf of my Family - we couldn’t have accomplished what we did - without you!
Grazie…Ti vogliamo bene (Thank you - We love you)
