The Issue

I have personally worked closely with Star Ingleston's brother, Tracey, and his wife Sylvia, in an attempt to secure for Star, posthumously, the Medal of Honor for his brave service during the Vietnam War. Unfortunately, we were unable to secure a second eyewitness report required for the medal. Star made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and the freedoms we enjoy today are a direct result of this brave soldier and many others like him who've paid the ultimate price.

Star, a local of Martville, was a dedicated serviceman who tragically lost his life during the war. We believe renaming our local Post Office in his honor would be a fitting tribute to this local hero and his brave service. This would also serve as a continual reminder to the Martville community of the cost of our freedom and the individuals who've given so much to uphold it.

The sacrifices made by Vietnam War veterans like Star often remain under-recognized. According to the National Veterans Foundation, out of the 2.7 million Americans who served in Vietnam, over 58,000 lost their lives, and many more returned home without recognition or a proper welcome. It's important that communities across the country acknowledge their sacrifices and honor them appropriately.

By renaming Martville's Post Office after Star Ingleston, we would be taking a significant step to ensure that his selfless service is remembered. It's the very least we can do for a man who gave everything for his country. Lend your support and help honor Star's memory. Please sign this petition to rename the Martville Post Office in honor of Star Ingleston.
