The Issue

We the people, call upon the City of Crossville and our community leaders to honor the shot veteran. A veteran who was gunned down on Main Street in downtown Crossville.

The man served his country with honor. Yet like too many of our heroes, he faced hardship after his service. The shooting is not only a personal tragedy but also a painful reminder of the struggles many veterans endure when they return home.

Currently, our community’s Veterans Memorial stands as a symbol of respect for those who gave their lives in service. But we believe it is equally important to remember and support the veterans who are still with us. Especially those who struggle with homelessness, trauma, and lack of resources.

We therefore petition for the following actions:

That a new plaque or separate memorial be installed at War Memorial Park dedicated specifically to homeless and struggling veterans. Ensuring their service is not forgotten.
That the City of Crossville allocate $100,000 from city funds toward programs assisting homeless and struggling veterans. In honor of the dead. Ensuring his legacy directly benefits those who share the struggles he endured.

By doing so, Crossville will not only honor one man’s sacrifice but also send a message to all veterans. That their service, struggles, and humanity are seen and valued by their community.

Our Demands:

The creation of a dedicated memorial to the living struggling veterans.
A visible and lasting tribute to homeless and struggling veterans.
Allocation of $100,000 in city funds to directly aid local veterans in need. As a living memorial in his honor.

We stand together to ensure that no veteran is forgotten. And that those who served our country, whether in life or in death, are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
