April 2026 Update
It has been some time since the last update, and I wanted to share what has unfolded behind the scenes.
What began as a simple expression of gratitude has continued to move in ways I do not think any of us could have fully anticipated.
Since the last update:
• I had the opportunity to meet with the Superintendent, and together we visited Ed in person. It was a moment that brought everything back to where it started, real impact, real connection, and a reminder of why this matters so much.
• I was invited to speak at a Bristol Board of Education meeting, where I shared his impact through the voices behind it, the voices of all of you.
• During that meeting, Ed himself spoke.
And then something happened that I will never forget.
The room went still, and then the entire space rose to its feet.
A standing ovation for a man whose impact has quietly shaped lives for decades.

This campaign has always been about more than recognition.
It is about what happens when a community chooses to acknowledge the kind of impact that does not always make headlines, but changes lives in lasting ways.
And we are still moving forward.
We are continuing to advocate for:
🏆 A Lifetime Educator Award honoring Ed Mongeon’s nearly 40 years of impact
📜 A Town Proclamation Vision, an annual day dedicated not just to recognition, but to strengthening student connection, supporting mental wellness, and creating moments that can truly change outcomes for students across Bristol
If you have signed, shared, or told your story, thank you.
You are part of this.
And if you have not yet shared your experience, there is still space for your voice. Every story continues to shape what this becomes.

Some things take time.
But the meaning behind this has never been clearer.
And we are not done yet.
