Honor Charlie Kirk as an Honorary United States Marine

Honor Charlie Kirk as an Honorary United States Marine
The Issue
The United States Marine Corps maintains a proud tradition of recognizing extraordinary civilians who embody and live by the values of the Corps. Under Marine Corps Order 5060.19C, the title of Honorary Marine may be awarded posthumously to individuals whose service, support, or actions clearly exceed the norm and exemplify the Marine Corps’ core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
We, the undersigned, respectfully petition the Commandant of the Marine Corps—with full visibility and awareness provided to the chain of command including the Assistant Commandant, Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Headquarters Marine Corps Communication Directorate, the Secretary of the Navy, the Secretary of War, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and ultimately the President and Vice President of the United States—to designate Charlie Kirk as an Honorary United States Marine, posthumously.
Charlie Kirk dedicated his life to the defense of liberty, service to his country, and the mentorship of young Americans. His work consistently reflected the fourteen Marine Corps leadership traits—justice, judgment, dependability, initiative, decisiveness, tact, integrity, enthusiasm, bearing, unselfishness, courage, knowledge, loyalty, and endurance—in both public and private life.
This request is made not lightly, but because his actions and lifelong commitment to America’s founding principles truly surpassed the norm, as required by Marine Corps policy. His courage in the face of adversity, steadfast commitment to truth, and his influence in cultivating patriotism among America’s youth mirror the very ideals the Marine Corps seeks to uphold.
Posthumously honoring Charlie Kirk as an Honorary Marine would:
1. Recognize his extraordinary contributions to the United States.
2. Serve as a lasting example of the values the Marine Corps embodies.
3. Inspire future generations to live with honor, courage, and commitment.
We ask that the Commandant of the Marine Corps, with full acknowledgement by the Secretary of the Navy, the Secretary of War, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Commander in Chief himself, approve this designation and issue the Honorary Marine Certificate as authorized under MCO 5060.19C.
Please join us in signing this petition to show the Commandant of the Marine Corps, the Department of the Navy, the Department of War, and the Commander in Chief that there is widespread public support for recognizing Charlie Kirk as an Honorary United States Marine. Together, let us honor his legacy and ensure that his dedication to America is remembered in a way befitting the proud traditions of the United States Marine Corps.
Respectfully submitted,
in the spirit of the values and traditions of the United States Marine Corps,
– Neal Alen Davidson
