Honor Army War Hero Thomas "Bullet" Bouchard w/ Burial Plot in Arlington National Cemetery
The Issue
I am writing this petition to honor my birth father, Sgt. Thomas "Bullet" Bouchard, and request that the second most highly decorated veteran in Maine be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. My fathers was an extraordinary war hero and a devoted servant of the nation. Sgt. Thomas Bouchard fought for our country during the Vietnam war, showcasing incredible bravery and valor serving in the 8th Cavalry, 1st Battalion, 1st Division or "1st Team" where on Dec 7th 1967, one day before his 19th birthday, he earned the Distinguished Service Cross for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations involving conflict with an armed hostile forces in the Republic of Vietnam at the Battle of Dai Dong. His sacrifice and heroism did not end there and he later received the Purple Heart, Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, Air Medal, along with numerous other commendations and awards including the Medal of Valor from the Republic of Vietnam.
Tom's service continued even after the war as he dedicated his life to assisting veterans in Maine helping them to receive VA services and benefits while also fighting for those soldiers that were MIA, having a personal childhood friend of his from Eastport Maine, where they grew up, and they never found or were able to recover hi remains and this made his work with vets even more important.
In accordance with the VCA, my father, Sergeant Thomas Bouchard, is more than eligible, Honorably discharged and later inducted into the Legion of Valor by the 101st Congress in 1990.

I call for and petition for the recognition that Sgt. Thomas "Bullet" Bouchard deserves. I implore the Veterans Administration to grant Thomas Bouchard a military ceremony and burial marker at Arlington National Cemetery as a rightful tribute to his service, courage, and sacrifice. Honor this war hero as he deserves and help us by signing this petition and let us together receive tribute and respect my father and Maine's second most highly decorated war hero deserves.
Thank You
