I take immense pleasure to share the following with you all ....
You are quite aware that Com. "LV" Subramaniyam, the Living Legend & The Father of the Bank Officers' Movement, has been the Household name in the Banking circles all over the country .
Unmindful of the intimidations / harassments meted out against him and his committed followers who came under the banner SBOA (State Bank Officers Association) at Mumbai being the HQ of the Bank. He successfully organised the ✴️✴️EPIC CRUSADE OF 17-DAY LONG ALL INDIA STRIKE - "REMINDS US OF THE EPIC KURUKSHETRA MAHA SANGRAMA" by the officers of SBI.✴️✴️
This alone made the then stubborn management (Late RK Talwar -CEO-SBI) ultimately come to the senses for an agreement / understanding with the Officers' Demands under the shrewd leadership of Com."LV" (whom we address adoringly)
Thus, the "SPARK" ignited by the Living Legend Com."LV" in SBI in late 60's SPREAD LIKE A WILDFIRE and brought an awareness among the officer- fraternity in the entire Banking Industry all over the country.
This ultimately culminated in the formation of "ALL INDIA CONFEDERATION OF BANK OFFICERS ORGANISATIONS" - AICOBOO at the Apex level. Thus, SBI officers remained as our "TORCHBEARERS" (in the history) lead by the Living Legend Com."LV" as its FOUNDER SECRETARY GENERAL.
The Day before yesterday - ie.
on 22 07 2022 it was indeed a pleasant surprise for me to receive a call from Singapore from my leader Com."LV" enquiring about the latest developments concerning PENSION REVISION & I placed before him with all the details & clarifications within my knowledge.
Our conversation further stretched for quite a long duration recollecting the reminiscences of our crusade over the years. In the process, we also remembered some of our contemporaries with whom we sailed together hand in hand - to name a few stalwarts - Late Com. Dr.B.Ramji (IOB), Upadhyaya & RN Godbole (SBI), KS Prakash Rao & HR Shenoy (Synd.Bk.)etc.. besides the Living Legends - Com. PS Raja Gopal (Can.Bk.), MU Pai (Synd.Bk.) etc....
I am indeed fortunate enough for having been groomed and associated myself in close proximity with many of them in my endeavours for our collective cause till date....
